Book-matching is the technique of opening two consecutive slabs like the pages of a book, so their veins mirror each other across a seam. The result is a symmetrical, almost Rorschach-like pattern that transforms stone into art.
How it's done
Slabs are cut sequentially from the same block, then polished and arranged so adjacent edges reflect. With four-way matching, the pattern radiates from a central point, a showstopper for feature walls, lobbies and headboards. It demands careful slab selection and precise CNC cutting, both of which we handle in-house.
Where it works best
Dramatic stones with strong veining, Calacatta Viola, Patagonia, blue agate, make the most striking book-matches. Reserve it for the one surface you want everyone to remember.
